Abbas briefed Jordan's king on the results of meetings between the Palestinian government and US peace envoy Dennis Ross, and the two also discussed US proposals during the meeting.
King Hussein expressed his satisfaction with the US proposals and the Palestinians' positive response, which the king said would help the US continue its endeavors to activate Palestinian - Israeli negotiations.
Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Salam al-Majali who met with Abbas said "There is still a wide gap between Israel and Palestine," adding "America witnessed that there were differences still remaining, regarding the rates in both the first and the second phases" of redeployment, he told reporters.
"There are still differences regarding the implementation of these ratios and the situations for implementation. There are still more differences concerning committees," he said.
"I believe that this was obvious to the Americans," he stated.
