Tourabi calls for wider Sudanese political participation

The head of Sudanese parliament, Dr. Hassan El-Tourabi called for a political dialogue between all political forces to end disputes in the political arena, stop violence and fanaticism and accelerate the realization of national unity.

El-Tourabi called for the expansion of political participation, securing justice in distributing the wealth, implementation of the government's programs aiming at establishing a national identity. He spoke of the importance of strengthening external relations between Sudan and the rest of the world.

El-Tourabi said that the new Sudanese constitution gives total freedom to citizens to freely express their choices.

Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir is expected to sign his country's new constitution on June 30, and he will announce this day as a holiday for the constitution instead of celebrating the holiday of the National Salvation Revolution.
