Arab League calls for funding of May Somali reconciliation

The Arab League urged the Arab states to provide necessary financial support to Somalia so as to convene the Somali reconciliation conference, due on May 15 in Bedawa city.
An AL official source said the organization is exerting efforts to ensure the material support to cover the expenditures of Bedawa conference, estimated at US $4 million.
The source added that an AL team will leave Cairo for Makadishu during April to investigate conditions in Somalia, especially he reopening of Makadishu's harbor and airport, and the formation of a civil administration, as well as to prepare a report about these investigations to be submitted to the AL's seven-member ministerial committee concerned with the Somali crisis.
