Prince of Qatar will visit France soon
Qatar-France, Politics, 4/1/1998

Official Qatari sources told ArabicNews.com that the prince of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani has received an official invitation from French President Jacques Chirac to visit France.

The French president visited Qatar in 1996. This would be the first visit for the Qatari emir to France since he assumed power in 1995.

French - Arab relations are witnessing development because of French support for Arab positions, including its views toward the peace process, changing its attitude toward the Lockerbie crisis and its support for diplomatic endeavors to solve the recent Iraq crisis peacefully.

Meanwhile, the general commander of the US Central Command, General Anthony Zinni, will conclude today his three-day visit to Qatar, during which he met with military officials and discussed methods of enhancing military cooperation between the two countries.
