Gore due in Cairo in April

Contacts are underway between Egypt and the United States to arrange the visit of US Vice President Al Gore to Cairo. The visit, expected at the end of April, for holding talks within the programs of US - Egyptian participation that is known as the Mubarak - Gore initiative.
A high-ranking US official said Gore's visit will come after participation committee meetings in the US capital, adding that the main committee in the initiative specializes in investment and trade policy.
Egyptian Minister of Finance Yeihia El-Din Gharib and Economic Minister Youssef Butros Ghali, will participate in the committee.
The official added that Gore's visit to Cairo considered a confirmation of the importance of joint activities, enhancing bilateral committees for economic, technological, educational and environmental cooperation.
