Syrian - Algerian agriculture agreement signed

Syrian Prime Minister Mahmoud al-Zoubi on Thursday met with Algerian Minister of Agriculture Balhawajib Bin Alia. Cooperation relations between the two countries in the field of agriculture were reviewed.
Earlier in the day, the Algerian minister and his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Moustafa signed an agricultural cooperation agreement providing for exchanging results of agricultural research projects on barley, lentils, fruit tree saplings and seed multiplication and the exchange of visits by technicians.
The agreement states the importnace of strengthening bilateral cooperation in fighting desertification, water use, irrigation systems, drainage and land reclamation and exchanging pistachio, vine trees, olive, apple and citrus saplings.
