Iraqi delegation in Emirates for the first time

A delegation from the Iraqi national council, headed by the deputy of the leaders' council, Ogiel Galal Ismael, is visiting the United Arab Emirates.
This visit, the first of its sort since 1990, comes within a tour including Oman and Yemen.
The delegation confirmed the UAE's wish for UN sanctions to be lifted from Iraq, as UAE President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan was the first who called for reconciliation and restoring Arab solidarity and cooperation.
Iraqi relations with the Arab countries have undergone an improvement since the recent crisis between the United Nations and Iraq.
