Arab Lawyers Union meets in Tunisia

The meetings of the Arab Lawyers Union in Tunisia, running from March 24-27, addressed the possibility of Arab reconciliation and establishing an Arab joint market to compete with economic factions internationally.

The attendees also discussed the enhancement of Arab national security, protecting people of the region from the dangers of war and ridding the region of weapons of mass destruction.

Farouk Abo Eisa, secretary-general of the Arab Lawyers Union, stated that the permanent bureau's meetings come while a serious strategy represented by the strengthening of foreign military presence in Arab territories, including the military buildup of marine and air fleets by the US-led alliance. He said the United States uses all means to confirm its domination over Arab states.

Eisa also criticized Israeli policy in the region, especially toward the peace process, and toward separating the Lebanese - Syrian track, saying that the conditioned Israeli withdrawal from south Lebanon is a prohibited matter.
