Canada opens consulate in Aleppo

The Canadian ambassador to Syria on Wednesday inaugurated an honorary consulate in the city of Aleppo, underlining Aleppo's significance as a cultural, economic and trade center.
The ambassador said: "The Canadian community residing in Aleppo will act as a bridge between Canadian traders and their Syrian counterparts, particularly in the sphere of holding exhibitions and establishing joint commercial companies."
