Regional, Science, 3/25/1998
The Food and Agriculture Organization's director-general, Jacques Daiouf, on Tuesday warned against the food gap, and renewable water resources in the Near East, which has been growing since 1990.
In the inaugural speech at the FAO's regional conference in Damascus, Daiouf indicated the current situation of Middle East waters in light of expectations that by 2025, the individual share of renewable water in most of the region's states will drop to less than 700 cubic meters per year against the global rate of individual shares amounting to 4780.
