Lebanese fighters attack Israeli positions in Beit Yahoun
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 3/25/1998

Lebanese resistance forces on Tuesday morning attacked an Israeli military post in Beit Yahoun. In a statement the resistance said another group of resistance fighters fired shots at Israeli positions in the al-Qantara area. The Israeli positions were directly hit as a result of the two attacks.

On Tuesday afternoon, resistance fighters attacked another Israeli post inside the western area of occupied south Lebanon.

Earlier, Israeli troops shelled with artillery a number of towns and villages in the western sector and the hills of al-Tuffah district. Lebanese security sources said the shelling was accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire from Israeli troops against roads and hilly passages linking al-Tuffah district to the occupied part of south Lebanon.

Israeli warplanes carried out mock raids at low altitudes against the central and Western sectors, al-Nabatieh and al-Tuffah districts.
