Slowness of judicial proceedings a Pharaonic disease
Egypt, Culture, 3/25/1998
In Egypt, the slowness of judicial proceedings is an old disease which has Pharaonic roots.
This was suggested by a recent archeological discovery by a delegation headed by Dr. Zahi Hawas.
The new discovery is a grave at Sakara for a person named Betah Men, narrating the story of juridical litigation over a piece of land allocated to him by King Ahmous for his courage in the war against El-Hoksos. His heirs quarreled over it in the period between 1550 to 1250 B.C.
