European Union seeks to end disputes with Egypt

The head of the European Union committee in Cairo confirmed the EU's desire to put an end to discussions on the remaining items in the agreement between Egypt and the EU as soon as possible, at the recommendation of British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook.
He said putting an end to pending problems between Egypt and the EU, including those concerning agriculture, is one of the hardest problems on which they will focus during the European - Egyptian symposium in April.
Several subjects will be discussed during this symposium, most importantly methods of reducing the customs tarriffs between Egypt and the EU, intellectual ownership rights, and other issues economic trade related issues.
He said the problems between Egypt and the EU were due to the desire to avoid product flooding European markets.
