First Eritrean delegation to Yemen since 95 conflict
Yemen-Eritrea, Politics, 3/23/1998
Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Sunday received a communique from Eritrea's President Asyas Afworki relating to bilateral relations and means of establishing stability in the region, the Yemeni news agency said.
The delegation carrying the communique is the first to visit Yemen since Eritrea's occupation of Hanish Island in the Red Sea in 1995.
In 1996, following a French mediation, the two countries agreed to submit their conflict regarding the Island to an international court in London.
Yemeni officials said a decision will be taken by the court in May or July.
