EU plans statement on Cook's Jabal Abu Ghenem visit

The spokesperson for the French Foreign Ministry said on Friday that the European Union presidency would issue a declaration regarding British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook's visit to the Jabal Abu Ghaneim or Har Homa settlement in East Jerusalem, which was received by an angry response from Israel.
"All that Mr. Cook did was to remind what the international law is in relation to Jerusalem and occupied territories. It is troublesome that this simple reminder should be interpreted as a provocation," the spokesperson said.
