Moroccan opposition delegation meets with United Nations officials
Morocco-West Sahara, Politics, 3/21/1998
A delegation from the Social Democratic Movement and Works Party visiting the Saharan governments held a meeting in the region of Eioun with the head of the identity committee in the Western Sahara, Robin Kinloch.
The secretary-general of the Democratic Party said they discussed some of the obstacles preventing the Western Saharan people from registering on identity lists to be eligible to vote in the upcoming self-rule referendum.
Kinloch said "We have drawn the attention of United Nations officials to the fact that we cannot approve any referendum in the Sahara without the identity of all Saharan origin people."
