Spanish prime minister to visit Morocco in April
Morocco, Politics, 3/21/1998
Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar will head to Morocco in the middle of April to meet with King Hassan II, and to meet with his Moroccan counterpart, Abdel Rahman El-Youssefi to head the high joint committee.
Moroccan sources said the discussions will focus on such regional issues as the Western Sahara and criticisms toward non-governmental organizations' attitudes, and examining the future of Septa and Melilla that are occupied by Spain in northern Morocco.
The talks will also tackle issues such as the fishing agreement between Morocco and the European Union, military and economic cooperation between Morocco and Spain.
On the other hand, Spain is looking for new relations and cooperation with the new Moroccan government, decreasing disputes concerning the future of Septa, Melia and the Western Sahara disputes.
