Lebanon, UAE to sign investment, double taxation projects
Lebanon-United Arab Emirates, Economics, 3/19/1998
Lebanese Minister for Financial Affairs Fuad al-Sanyoura on Wednesday said that Lebanon and the UAE will sign two agreements on investment promotion and protection and avoiding double taxation between the two countries next May.
In statements to Lebanese businessmen in Dubai issued on Wednesday by the UAE daily Gulf Times, al-Sanyoura said the recent retreat of Gulf investors from several deals in Lebanon did not shake the confidence placed by the Gulf states in the Lebanese economy.
He went on to say that the Lebanese government does not interfere in private sector matters and has no role in the dispute between Lebanese and non-Lebanese partners.
