Israeli settlement activities financed by USA gambling operation
Israel-Palestine, International, 3/19/1998
American-Jewish millionaire Irving Moskowitz threatened to take legal action against Israel's Channel 2 television if an investigative report on his businesses is not pulled from the schedule before Sunday.
The channel's prestigious "Fact" program, aired every Sunday evening, has prepared a documentary on Moskowitz's gambling and bingo business in the USA. A lawyer who approached Channel 2 on behalf of Moskowitz requested to view the program prior to broadcast and when it was made clear to him that his request was not acceptable, he threatened to seek legal remedies.
The film includes a report on how Irving Moskowitz¹s gambling profits are sent to Israel to purchase land and buildings in East Jerusalem and for donations to right wing, religious, and National-religious organizations, the foremost of which is Ateret Cohanim, the settlement organization that has been responsible for takeover of hundreds of Arab houses and properties in the Old City of Jerusalem and its surroundings.
"The film reveals strategic locations where Moskowitz purchased lands, one of which will undoubtedly cause the next conflict between Israel and Palestinians," said the film producer, who noted that "Moskowitz apparently does not want people in Israel to see how he makes the money for these lands.²
