OIC meeting to address peace process

The assistant secretary-general of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Abdul Aziz Abu Ghoush on Thursday said that among the top priorities of the OIC foreign ministers meeting on Sunday in Doha is the continued Israeli occupation of the Golan, Jerusalem and south Lebanon.
Interviewed by Sawt al-Arab radio on Thursday, Abu Ghoush said the ministers will also discuss obstacles placed by the government of Benjamin Netanyahu before the ME peace process and economic cooperation among the OIC member states.
On Saturday, the Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid will head for Qatar in a four-day visit during which he will take part in the meetings of the OIC foreign ministers meeting. Spokesman for the AL, Talaat Abu Hamid, said during his visit Abdul Meguid will meet with Ruler of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani and with the foreign minister of Qatar to discuss the Arab conditions and the peace process.
The spokesman said Abdul Meguid will also take part in the meetings of the Arab 7-member ministerial committee due to be held in Doha on the sideline of the OIC conference meetings to discuss latest developments concerning Lockerbie crisis.
