Arab parliamentarians in Sanaa to discuss Arab solidarity

Three-day meetings of the Arab Parliamentary Union council headed by Dr. Ahmed Fathi Serour, the head of the Egypt's parliament, will begin on Monday in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.
Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Saleh and 14 parliamentary leaders will inaugurate the meetings, and Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdul Meguid will also join the meetings.
These meetings will tackles the issues of Arab solidarity, the role of the Arab parliaments in encouraging the defense of Jerusalem against Israeli attempts to Judaize the city, enhancing the Middle East peace process, and challenging Israeli settlement operations in the occupied Arab territories.
Moreover they will review the Arab agreement to combat terrorism drafted by the Arab ministers of interior and justice to prepare for a joint meeting in the Arab League on April 22.
The union confirmed the importance of Iraq's abidance by the agreement signed between UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and Iraq to block the United Sates from launching military strikes and to uplift the sanctions against Iraq.
