Fighting continues in south Lebanon, Two Israelis wounded

Israeli troops on Wednesday attacked areas adjacent to the occupied strip of south Lebanon, especially al-Tuffah district's mountainous areas and the western Bekaa.
The attacks were accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire targeting rugged mountainous routes which link al-Tuffah district to the occupied strip of south Lebanon.
Israeli warplanes carried out mock raids at low altitudes over the western sector and the areas of al-Nabatieh and al-Tuffah district, dropping thermal balloons.
Lebanese national resistance on Tuesday attacked an Israeli position in Dabsheh in the occupied strip of south Lebanon inflicting direct hits. An Israeli military spokesman said two Israeli soldiers were wounded in the attack, one moderately and the other very slightly.
Hezbollah issued a statement announcing that it also attacked a patrol of the South Lebanon Army, Israel's proxy militia in south Lebanon, near Sojod.
Meanwhile, the monitoring committee for the application of the April Understanding on Wednesday held a meeting in the border town of al-Naqoura. The committee, which comprises representatives from the United States, France, Syria, Israel and Lebanon, monitors an April 1996 understanding which forbids Israeli troops and Lebanese guerrillas from firing on civilians on both sides of the border.
The committee discussed three Lebanese complaints against Israel beacuse of Israeli shelling of Mashghara which resulted in the wounding of a child and of the Jezzine area where a house was damaged, and because of Israeli attacks on the area surrounding Hadatha.
