Free trade zone between Egypt and Romania

Egypt and Romania have launched discussions to examine the steps necessary to establish a free trade zone between them, arrange exhibitions for Egyptian products in Romania, and establish joint projects to aid industry in the two countries.
The discussions were held in Cairo between Soliman Reda, the Egyptian minister of industry; Zafir El-Bishri, Egypt's minister of state for planning and international cooperation; and Mircea Ciumara, the Romanian minister of state for industry and trade.
During the meeting, Reda said the agreement to establish a free trade zone between the two countries will contribute to increasing joint economic and industrial cooperation.
Meanwhile Ciumara expressed his country's hope to establish free zones for Egyptian products in Romania, ratify the free trade agreement between the two countries, and encourage businessmen in both countries to establish joint projects.
Finally, he stated that Romania could be the crossing point for Egyptian products to enter the markets of the Ukraine and Belgium.
