Sevenfold committee discusses Lockerbie crisis in Doha
Regional-Libya, Politics, 3/10/1998

The Arab sevenfold committee affiliated to the Arab League will hold a meeting under the leadership of Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdel Meguid on the sidelines of a Doha conference for foreign ministers of Organization of the Islamic Conference states.

Bahrain's foreign minister, Mohammed Ben Muabarak Al-Khalifa, will also participate in the meeting as his country is the current Arab member in the Security Council. The sevenfold committee includes Egypt, Syria, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Mauritania.

The meeting will discuss the recent developments in the Lockerbie crisis after the announcement of the International Court of Justice concerning its right to examine this crisis.

The UN Security Council will discuss on March 20 the ramifications of the court's decision as pertaining to Security Council sanctions against Libya.
