Women from Jerusalem and Gaza demonstrate
Palestine-Israel, Local, 3/10/1998

Five students in the West Bank city of Hebron were injured when Israeli soldiers launched tear gas and grenades at a school in the city.

An eyewitness said that a guard at Omar Ben Abdul Aziz school prevented the soldiers from entering the school to search for students who were throwing stones at them. That lead the soldiers to throw tear gas cannisters on the school.

A doctor in a Hebron hospital said the most seriously injured student was transferred to a hospital in Jerusalem, while the other 4 students were slightly injured.

Meanwhile Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank demonstrated to protest the Israeli occupation and domination over Palestinian society.

The wife of the Palestinian president, Suha Arafat addressed the group of more than 500 women that gathered in Gaza.
