Formation of new Moroccan government faces obstacles
Morocco, Politics, 3/9/1998

Morocco's King Hassan II will meet with Moroccan Prime Minister Abdel Rhaman El-Youssefi at the beginning of April, within the discussion of the arrangements for the formation of the new Moroccan government.

Youssefi is confronting several obstacles in forming the anticipated Moroccan government, including the demand from the new head of the opposition parties for more responsibility, while the same demand is coming from the Liberal Party, considered the principle party outside the opposition factions supporting Youssefi's government.

Meanwhile, the head of the public movement and the ex-post minister, Moaned El-Onser, said in a press statement that his party and his allies will assemble an opposition to confront the new government. Onser said the coming government will not be able to make more progress than the previous government and added that the outgoing government was more free and was not as bound beforehand by political promises and commitments.
