Jordan's Anani meets Iraq's Sahaf
Jordan-Iraq, Politics, 3/9/1998
Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister for Development Affairs and Foreign Minister Dr. Jawad al-Anani met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammed Said al-Sahaf who is on his way to New York.
They discussed a number of issues of concern to both sides. The two ministers exchanged views on the latest agreement between the Iraqi government and UN signed last month in Baghdad.
"Jordan and Iraq share a common ground through which they can move to implement the latest UN Security Council resolution 1154" in a way that would prevent any tension in the future, Anani told reporters after his meeting with the Iraqi Foreign Minister.
"Jordan and Iraq are in full agreement on the need to implement the UN-Iraqi agreement," Iraqi Foreign Minister Sahaf said.
