Sudanese vice president discusses coming peace talks in Nairobi

Sudanese Vice President Ali Osman Mohammed Taha said that the coming round of peace negotiations between the government and rebels in southern Sudan will be held in Nairobi. The negotiations will not include the northern opposition parties
He also said communications with the northern opposition are going on according to other arrangements within Sudanese political and constitutional developments.
He also said the northern opposition's participation is not possible due to differences over the agenda of the talks, adding that the government will launch communications with the opposition parties despite their attempts to topple it.
Meanwhile, the World Food Program, affiliated to the United Nations, warned that 350,000 persons are threatened by starvation in southern Sudan.
