Jordan FM briefs parliament on privatization
Jordan, Economics, 3/5/1998

Jordan's House of Representatives was briefed by Jordan's Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Dr. Jawad al-Anani concerning the role of private sector in improving the kingdom's economy.

"Through past decades the role of the private sector has been enhanced," Anani said, adding that he underlined the importance of enabling the private sector to assume a bigger role in the country's economic and social development.

During the session several deputies expressed their views on the agreement's privatization program. The majority of representatives voted to refer the government's statement to the House Financial Committee which will study the program and submit a report in two weeks.
