Qatar pledges to compensate sacked Egyptian workers
Qatar-Egypt, Politics, 3/4/1998
Egyptian and Qatari officials said that Qatar has promised to compensate some 700 Egyptian workers whose contracts were terminated following disputes between the two countries.
This promise was made during a meeting held on Sunday in Luxor between the Qatari minister of civil service affairs, Sheikh Falah Bin Jabr al-Thani, and the Egyptian minister of labor and immigration.
Qatar has also promised not to terminate other Egyptian contracts.
Following the Qatari pledge the general federation of workers trade union in Egypt decided to suspend a complaint submitted to the Arab Labor organization on expelling Egyptian workers from Qatar.
