Gaza businessmen complain of Israeli practices
Palestine-Israel, Business, 3/4/1998
Palestinian businessmen from Gaza have complained recently of Israeli measures that "have caused not only large financial losses for their businesses but also personal humiliation."
Some, leaving Gaza for Israel on daily basis on special permits issued by the Israeli authorities, said they were not treated fairly at the crossing point in Erez junction and spoke of conditions put forward by Israel to use Israeli trucks to move their goods into Israel.
"Our trucks are not allowed in Israel and we are forced to use Israeli ones which charge us double the normal cost we pay to Gaza trucks with permits," said one businessman.
