Saudi Arabia : the Iraqi situation will be totally settled with compliance
Saudi Arabia-Iraq, Politics, 3/3/1998
Saudi Arabia believes that the Iraqi situation will be settled in all aspects, including normalization, if it implements the UN Security Council's resolutions.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saudi El-Faisel said that Saudi Arabia wants Iraq to implement the international agreement.
Concerning the possibility of an Arab move to adopt Baghdad's demand of uplifting the sanctions the minister said: "We agree with Egypt that all hope depends on implementing Security Council resolutions which is the only way to lift the sanctions from Iraq."
He also said, "We greatly sympathize with the Iraqi people and their current sufferings," expressing his hope that the resolutions will be implemented very soon.
