Clashes between the Yemeni security
Yemen, Local, 3/3/1998

A clash flared up between Yemeni policemen and an armed group in eastern Yemen, resulting in injuries to a tourist and three policemen. The armed group intersected the path of a tourist group, then the policemen fought with the armed group.

Meanwhile, the head of Aden's security, El-Omir Mohammed Saleh, said there were no sabotage motives behind an explosion near a mosque in Aden last Sunday that lead to the death of two persons and the injury of a third.

He also said that preliminary investigations indicates that one of those killed in the accident was carrying a bomb, which lead to this explosion.

The explosion took place near El-Rahman's mosque in El-Mansour district, where Sheikh Mokbel El-Wadehi, the leader of the Yemeni ancestral movement, was delivering a sermon before the Evening prayer.

This incident is the fifth in a series of explosions in Aden during the past eight months.
