Abdel Meguid to visit Algeria on Tuesday
Algeria, Politics, 3/3/1998
Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdel Meguid is to pay a visit to Algeria beginning on Tuesday and lasting for three days.
The spokesman of the Algerian Foreign Ministry said Abdel Meguid's talks with Algerian officials will tackle the recent agreement signed between Iraq and the United Nations and the deadlocked Middle East peace process.
Algerian President Liamine Zeroual will meet with Abdel Meguid for talks in which they will emphasize the Arab League's refusal of any interference in Algerian internal affairs.
Meanwhile, Zeroual announced that there will be an urgent national program launched this year for rebuilding all that has been destroyed by terrorism in 20 states.
He also said that Medea will receive additional funds valued at 500 million Algerian dinars to recoup its losses, where about 48 local headquarters, 6 city council headquarters, 20 bridges, 40 postal corporations, 90 health corporations, and 163 schools were all destroyed.
