OIC prepares for March meeting

Foreign ministers from the Organization of the Islamic Conference's member states will meet in Doha, Qatar on March 15-19 to discuss a project proposed by ambassador Ezzedin El-Iraqi, the secretary general of the OIC.
El-Iraqi told ArabicNews.com the meeting currently being held in Gada, which will end on Tuesday, was authorized by the Tehran summit to discuss amending the organization's charter.
He said this project, dealing with the current situation of the organization, methods of administrative reform, and administrative and financial rectification, includes an accurate explanation of the organization's current situation, difficulties resulting from the budget's shortage, and delays by member states in paying dues.
Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa and Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdel Meguid received a communique from Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamd Ben Jassem Ben Jaber concerning the Doha meeting.
This came within Meguid's meeting yesterday with Maneh Abdel Hadi El-Magri, the Qatari permanent representative to the Arab League and Qatar's ambassador in Cairo.
After the meeting, the Qatari ambassador said they discussed several issues of joint interest concerning the situation in the Middle East as well as methods of developing cooperation relation between Qatar and the general trusteeship of the Arab League.
