Egypt and Palestine begin new commercial agreement in March

ArabicNews.com was informed that the first session of the high committee between Egypt and Palestine will convene in Gaza in March under the leadership of Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa and the general secretary of the executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization Mohamoud Abass (Abu Mazen).
The committee's one-day meeting will tackle methods of enhancing cooperation in several fields and intitiate a new two-year investment and commercial agreement.
This new agreement will aim to increase Palestinian - Egyptian commercial exchange to $100 million this year and $500 million in 1999. The countries' trade exchange is currently $20 million within Israeli-approved price lists for goods imported by Palestine from abroad.
