Yemen will join the international commercial organization

The Yemeni government has started procedures to improve its economic condition before joining the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) governmental experts said, a move that will not take place for at least five years.
Officials in the communication bureau in coordination with the Yemeni Minister of Supply Abdel Karim Abdal Khader said Yemen took economic measures in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank to lift restrictions imposed on imports as well as applying important reforms in customs, taxes and banking, privatizing public corporations and adjusting investment laws.
