France for lifting sanctions imposed on Iraq

French defense Minister Alain Richard on Tuesday said economic sanctions imposed on Iraq should be lifted. The AP quoted Richard, currently visiting Hungary, as saying sanctions should be lifted if the accord signed by UN secretary-general Kofi Annan with Iraq could meet UN Security Council demands.
