Clinton, Mubarak discuss UN-Iraq accord, ME peace

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt on Tuesday received a phone call from US President Bill Clinton dealing with the results of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's visit to Iraq.
Talks dealt with content of the accord concerning the implementation of UN resolutions and the importance of US approval of the agreement in giving success to political efforts to preserve stability and peace on the regional and international levels.
Moreover, the two Presidents agreed to concentrate efforts on reviving the Middle East peace process. The Egyptian Middle East News Agency said this was expressed during the telephone call between the two presidents.
President Mubarak received a similar telephone call from Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi during which talks dealt with the UN-Iraqi accord and hope was expressed the accord will be approved by the UN.
