Economic cooperation between Sudan and China

Sudan and China signed an agreement for economic cooperation yesterday, meanwhile the Sudanese capital is witnessing intensive diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing Khartoum's foreign relations in general.
The head of the Chinese delegation said the Chinese government is interested in developing commercial ties between the two countries and increasing investment opportunities, clarifying that the Chinese investment in Sudan reached $2 billion, as China is currently establishing an oil refinery in El-Khartoum.
The Chinese delegation is expected to arrive in Khartoum on Wednesday for a three-day visit, headed by the Chinese minister for foreign affairs.
Mostafa Osman, the Sudanese foreign minister, stated that the coming period will view similar visits by officials from other countries, including a visit from a European delegation next month and a possible visit by the state minister of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
