Iraq's deputy premier accuses Britain of not committing itself to obligations
Iraq, International, 2/24/1998
Iraqi Deputy Premier Tariq Aziz accused Britain of not fulfilling its historical obligations to the Arabs.
In a joint press conference he held yesterday in Baghdad, Aziz said the history of the region and since the first World War has proven that successive British governments did not commit themselves to obligations concerning Arab nations.
Aziz added that the British are among the worst violators of their pledges towards Arabs, including the Iraqis.
