Meguid expresses optimism toward U.N - Iraqi agreement

Esmat Abdel Meguid, the secretary-general of the Arab League, expressed his optimism toward the UN-Iraq agreement reached during UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's mission terminate the Iraqi crisis.
Meguid said that the political solution to the crisis will avoid a dangerous situation in the Middle East region that would have led to a disaster threatening the whole area. Meguid emphasized the importance of solving conflicts peacefully.
He also expressed his hope that the agreement will lead to absolute commitment in implement in implementing Security Council resolutions, the end of the sanctions against Iraq, and the restoration of Iraq's role on international and regional levels.
