Turkish diplomat arrives in Damascus

Turkey's Foreign Ministry said Ekud Tchitirji, director general of the political department at the ministry, will arrive today in Damascus for an official visit.
In a statement issued Sunday night the Turkish ministry added Tchitirji will hold talks with Syrian officials during his two-day visit to Damascus.
This is the first visit for such a senior official between the two countries for three years. A statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry said, "Turkey desires to set foundations for a new dialogue covering substantial cooperation in fighting terrorism."
