US, Libya, Egypt accused of not cooperating in Kekhya case
Egypt-Libya, Judicial, 2/23/1998

An international legal committee investigating the December 1993 disappearance of former Libyan minister Mansour al-Kekhya accused the US, Egyptian and Libyan authorities of not being forthcoming will all the information and facts surrounding the disappearance.

The committee, organized by the Arab Organization for Human Rights which is comprised of Arab, American and European men of law, discussed yesterday in Cairo a report concerning the results of communications held in the last two months with officials in the United States, Egypt and Libya.

The report, which was announced today, accused the U.S. of misleading justice after accusing Libya and Egypt of involvement in Kekhya's kidnapping.

The report stated that the Libyan and Egyptian authorities did not respond to the committee's correspondences over the past two months.
