Algeria for boosting Arab, Muslim-Algerian partnership
Algeria, Politics, 2/20/1998

Chairman of the Algerian Movement for a Peaceful Society (Hamas) Sheikh Mahfouz Nehnah on Friday stressed strengthening Arab-Algerian partnerships and Islamic-Algerian partnerships.

During a meeting of his movement's Shoura council, Nehnah expressed his party's readiness to proceed in keeping the country's political, economic and social stability away from narrow disputes. He praised positions proclaimed by other parties against foreign intervention in Algerian internal affairs.

Meanwhile, the president of Mali, Alpha Oumar Konare expressed his country's solidarity with Algeria's government and people in their confrontation of terrorism and strongly condemned all attempts to interfere in Algeria's internal affairs. A joint statement followed the visit of President Konari to Algeria said the two governments would continue efforts to integrate their economies in many fields, including energy.
