Yemen, Indonesia sign economic cooperation agreements

Three agreements on economic cooperation were signed today between the governments of Indonesia and Yemen, in the presence of the two countries' Presidents, Soeharto and Ali Abdullah Saleh, respectively.
The three agreements, cosigned by the two foreign ministers, deal with trade, protection of investments, and a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint committee to promote cooperation in the fields of economy, sciences, technology and trade.
President Soeharto on Thursday received President Saleh who started a four-day visit to Indonesia.
Indonesia's minister of state said President Soeharto briefed President Saleh on Indonesian development programs and on the details of the economic difficulties, the worst the country has witnessed for decades.
