India refuses to cooperate in striking Iraq

Indian Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gojral on Friday refused a request for the use of its lands, waters and airspace in a possible strike against Iraq. The United News of India said Gojral, speaking before a crowd of citizens in West India, said he received a telephone call from a major state seeking India's support, but he did not identify the country or the President who phoned him.
