Arab agriculture ministers to discuss future plans

The activities of 25th symposium of the general assembly of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, to be attended by 18 Arab agriculture ministers, will open under Egyptian President Mubarak's auspices on Saturday, February 21 in Cairo.
During its meetings the assembly will review what has been achieved by the organization coinciding with the organization's celebration of its 25th anniversary. The assembly will also review regional and international changes and their effects on Arab agriculture, including the increasing reliance on food import, environmental deterioration, lack of water resources and weak production capacities.
The Arab agriculture ministers will discuss a plan for agricultural development in 1999-2000.
