Jordan's crown prince meets with Annan, Chirac

Late yesterday night, Crown Prince Hassan of Jordan met in Paris with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
They discussed the Iraqi governmental crisis with the UN Security Council in detail and repeated that it was necessary to make the utmost possible effort to defuse the crisis using diplomacy and to avoid the use of weapons of mass destruction.
Crown Prince Hassan arrived in Paris yesterday evening for a two-day official visit to France to hold talks high level officials including President Jacques Chirac about the Iraqi crisis.
In the course of his visit Crown Prince Hassan is scheduled to meet with Turkish President Suleiman Demirel who is presently in France. Demirel and Hassan will discuss the consequences of the crisis on Iraqi people and on regional states, bilateral relations, methods to promote them and the latest developments in the Middle East peace process.
