Britain to detain Arabs who oppose striking Iraq
Iraq, International, 2/19/1998

British security sources disclosed on Wednesday that British intelligence has listed about 100 Arabs who live in Britain to be arrested without trial if a military strike against Iraq takes place.

The sources added that Arabs living in Britain who are found to have hostile intentions due to the British decision to take part in a possible strike against Iraq would be deported, the sources said.

British security forces prepared lists of names of about 100 Arabs, mostly students in Britain, and monitored them closely during the escalation of the current crisis with Iraq.
